ButterShare
Send large files free with no size limits, zero cloud storage, and no signup.
About ButterShare
ButterShare is a browser-based peer-to-peer file transfer tool that makes it easy to send large files and folders directly between devices.
Instead of uploading files to a traditional cloud storage service first, ButterShare uses WebRTC to establish a direct connection between the sender and receiver whenever possible. This lets files move directly between devices without being permanently stored on ButterShare’s servers.
There is no account or signup required. Simply choose the files or folders you want to send, generate a shareable link or QR code, and send it to the recipient. ButterShare works across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS through modern web browsers, so no dedicated app installation is required.
ButterShare is useful for creators, freelancers, photographers, video editors, remote teams, developers, students, and anyone who needs to move large files between devices. Common use cases include sharing videos, RAW photos, project folders, ZIP archives, client deliverables, development builds, datasets, documents, and other large files.
Key features include peer-to-peer transfers, encrypted WebRTC connections, link sharing, QR code sharing, cross-platform support, large file and folder transfers, and no mandatory cloud storage for direct transfers.
ButterShare is designed to remove the friction of traditional file sharing and make browser-to-browser transfers simple, fast, and accessible.
