About browsergames.top
browsergames.top is a directory of persistent browser-based games: the text MMOs, space empires, crime cities, nation sims, football leagues and idle worlds that keep running after you close the tab. These games have been around in some form since the late 1990s, and many are still going, but they are hard to find. Search results are full of arcade portals, dead links and toplists where the position goes to whoever asks for the most votes.
We built the directory we wanted as players. Every one of the 363 games listed was visited by a person and written up in plain words. Each listing says what you actually do in the game, how a session works (ticks, energy, rounds or real time), how the game makes money, which platforms it runs on, and the date we last checked it. If a game's own site says it has closed, the listing says so instead of sending you to a dead page.
There are no votes to game and no paid rankings. Listing a game is free, and sponsored cards are clearly labelled and never change the facts or the order of other games. We leave out games built on crypto tokens, NFTs or cash prizes, unlicensed fan games that charge money, and sites that look shady or cannot be verified from their public pages.
You can browse by genre (RPG, strategy, space strategy, crime, idle, nation sims, sports managers, virtual pets, survival, MUDs and more) or by tag, such as text-based, turn-based, co-op, player economy or mobile-friendly. A new listings page shows what we have added recently, and the blog publishes guides twice a week: games like Torn, OGame or Travian, how to tell if a browser game is still alive, and practical notes for people building their own persistent browser game.
If you run a browser game, you can submit it for free. A person reviews every submission and replies within a week.
