Lastest

Lastest is a visual regression testing platform for teams checking that interface changes do not break existing screens and user flows. You can record a flow by clicking through an app in its embedded browser, or use AI to generate tests. The recording captures actions, selectors and screenshots along the way. Teams can organize those tests into suites and approve screenshots as comparison baselines.

On later runs, Lastest replays the tests in browser containers and compares each screen with its baseline. It offers pixel, structural and perceptual diff engines, so teams can choose how to assess visual changes. Its checks also examine other parts of a snapshot, including text, DOM, network activity, console output and performance. Reviewers can inspect changed screens side by side or with an overlay, then approve intended changes as new baselines.

Lastest integrates with CI pipelines, including GitHub Actions and GitLab CI. It can run checks on commits and pull requests, report visual differences to reviewers and block a merge when a required check needs review. Smart Run uses code changes to select affected tests. Teams can also schedule runs and compare results across branches.

AI can help create Playwright tests and repair tests when selectors or interfaces change. Approved tests replay through Playwright without using AI on every run. For failures, Lastest can group findings for review and file GitHub issues with evidence from the affected snapshot. It can be self-hosted so screenshots and test code stay within a team's infrastructure, or run through Lastest Cloud.
