Distance mushing keeps a strict schedule of running and resting, and much of it happens in the dark: there is no dashboard on a sled, so timing arrives as sound and rhythm, called out over the runner noise. Intertakt runs interval training the same way. HIIT, Tabata, rounds: put the phone face-down or in your pocket, and the session keeps going with the screen off. A clear voice counts every interval, and the beeps ride over your own playlist, with separate volume sliders for music, voice and cues. An incoming call or a switch to another app does not end the round: the session survives and resumes from the exact second where it stopped.
